  • Abducted by the nefarious Gleeman Vox, Ratchet and his pal Clank find themselves embroiled in a plot to kidnap famous heroes and pit them against each other in a televised death match called "Ratchet: Deadlocked Greatest Hits." Gleeman Vox is a galactic media mogul who will stop at absolutely nothing for good ratings. This game featuring Ratchet and his friend Clank was specifically designed and developed for the PlayStation 2 by Insomniac Games in coordination with Sony Computer Entertainment. It had an initial release date of 2006. Play along with the heinous games until the opportunity to defeat Vox presents itself. Along the way, you will collect weapon, armor, and health upgrades. Control bots to aid in battles with a new squad-based gameplay system. Play online against friends and others with a choice of 12 exciting maps and five different modes. The Siege mode from the previous "Ratchet and Clank" game, "Up Your Arsenal," has been entirely revamped to make way for Conquest mode. In these multiplayer games, players will need to capture nodes to gain points and eventually win the game. Additional multiplayer modes that can be found in "Ratchet and Clank: Deadlocked" include Capture the Flag, Juggernaut, King of the Hill, and Deathmatch. Each of these has its own objectives and rewards. After playing around for some time, you're likely to find a mode that suits your playstyle the best. The gameplay in each of these is eventful and packed full of action as defeating other online players can be a challenge. The unique weapons system is the highlight of this PS2 game as it allows for upgradeable mods to be applied to each weapon. This allows for an endless amount of unique combinations to tinker around with. There is also a whole host of skins you can unlock throughout the game that can be worn by Ratchet. These skins allow you to appear as entirely different characters from the "Ratchet and Clank" series. As for the single-player mode of "Rachet and Clank: Deadlocked," while Ratchet takes part in the Dreadzone challenge, it's up to Clank to provide him with mission updates. The advice given by Clank can be instrumental in defeating the enemies that lay before you. You can even unlock Clank's character skin and use it during the game in place of Ratchet. With the Co-op mode, it's possible for the second player to fight with the Alpha Clank skin. "Deadlocked" is the first in the PlayStation series to feature co-op play with story mode. With a friend, you can tackle the main story together, with the second player controlling the bots that assist Ratchet. For your task of winning the Dreadzone Challenge and saving the day, you can select up to five difficulties. These difficulties include Couch Potato, Contestant, Gladiator, Hero, and Exterminator. Over the course of this lengthy story campaign, you will visit numerous planets and locations, 15 in total. If you want to find out if Ratchet and his friend Clank can defeat the Exterminators and save the lost heroes, you'll have to pick up a copy of "Deadlocked."
